Be Inspired: 2 Legged Dogs Overcome Obstacles.

March 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

With all of these harsh realities in our lives, on the news and on this blog, I thought it would be nice to share some inspiring stories.

Meet Faith…

faith.pngFaith is a celebrity and has been seen on Entertainment shows, multiple news broadcasts and on Oprah. She is a 6 year old Lab who was born with a birth defect – her front 2 legs where deformed and what was there was unusable. The eldest son of the Stringfellow family found the little gem being smothered by her mother at 3 weeks of age, took her home and taught her to walk bipedal by using the snow and peanut butter on a spoon. You can see her method of transportation here. Faith is not the only dog in the world that walks bipedal, here is another one named Doug.

Meet Dominic…

This miniature grey hound was born with all 4 legs, but when he was 5 months old hedominic.png was hit by a car which resulted in the removal of 1 front and 1 back leg on the same side of his body. The owner says that it was a quick recovery and he immediately started walking as if nothing had happened. I bet this speedy-Gonzales could easily beat my 4-legged beast in a race! I must say that he really is a fine specimen and a true inspiration! Check him out in action here.

Meet Sugar…

She was found on a rooftop in Taiwan in the blazing sun and heat without any protection from the conditions. By the time the Taipei-based animal rescue group Animals Taiwan found her she was closer to death than she was alive. Sugar comes to the spotlight with a very sad tale of illness, abuse, neglect and starvation all because she was adopted to an unsuitable adoption family. Her medical history consists of a broken leg, pneumonia, brain damage and paralysis…but my God, look at her now…

Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them.
