Ok, this blog is for all those Oprah and Dr. Oz fans out there.
Yes, I am coming out of the closet - Wolfgirl is an Oprah fan. Damn PVR. Ever since I purchased it for hubby last November, I can watch her show (as well as Degrassi reruns, Breed All About it, Dog Whisperer and Dogs With Jobs…oh how I love my PVR). Back on topic…
Not only does Dr. Mehmet Oz radiate health and brains, but he cares. Cares about people and cares about ‘America’ (look up here Dr. Oz!! Canada is worth caring for too!) For all you people who 24/7ers out there, first of all, get a PVR. Secondly, last week and this week, Dr. Oz was on Oprah doing a 2 part series on aging healthy. I love how he takes science and teaches it in way that people get and want to know more about it, AND as you know - I am a huge fan of great teachers. Dr. Oz is a great teacher. Listen to him.
To that end, I have no qualms about sharing his and Dr. Roizen’s newest book with the world - You: Staying Young. Read it, live it, be it, share it. In fact, get the entire You series and change the way you live.
So why am I really sharing this with you? Because once you read one of the You books and change your life, you will realize how much of a difference eating the right foods and living the right lifestyle will change you for the better. Once you realize the truth to that statement, you will understand why I so highly recommend the raw diet for our furry friends. Dr. Oz is showing us how our bodies are suppose to function. Now it is your turn to give your canis lupus the foods that they were meant to have so they can function as nature intended. Kibble is equivalent to processed foods in our diet which Dr. Oz says is a big no-no. Can you imagine having no choice but to eat McDonald’s on a daily basis because that is all your master offered to you? No wonder dogs steal “people food.” People food - and hold onto your hats - IS dog food.
This is also a cry out to veterinarians who need to pull their heads out of their *ahems*, stop pushing their precious Medi-cal (news flash, some Medi-cal foods were recalled as well! Btw, Royal Canin is directly associated to Medi-Cal and lots recalled there!) and open their eyes to a world beyond their “education.” What I learned at school was to question the unquestionable and push the envelope of large systems and organizations. Interesting when you visit the Medi-Cal website that there is a completely different login access for the Veterinary Team. Hmm, sounds like an alliance to me!
