This is just sad.
The CBC reports:
A fire on Monday in Ottawa’s rural east end killed 13 family pets and caused more than $350,000 damage when it destroyed a farmhouse owned by John and Martine Williams, breeders of golden retriever dogs. No people were injured in the fire, but three cats, a golden retriever and nine of her puppies died. Not all of the family’s dogs were in the house on Sarsfield Road when the fire broke out. Fire department investigators say the fire started in the kitchen, but they have not established the cause.
