It’s a fact. We all die. Some earlier than others. Some at the right time. Some at the worst time. And some who just shouldn’t have died at all.

I admit I’ve been thinking a lot about death due to a couple of special people I’ve lost recently and the fact that I’m now dating a guy in the funeral business. But I’ve concluded that I want to donate every single part of my body to science or to another human who needs my parts and then cremate what is left over. Some more traditional people prefer to be buried in a casket. Either should your planned funeral involve a casket here’s your best bet: Ecological PeaceBox Caskets.

This company claims these caskets to be “the least polluting casket available on the market today.”

The advantages being…

  • PeaceBox is the only folding liquid-proof one piece coffin on the world market at present.
  • PeaceBox is more than just a coffin made from recycled (70%) cellulose; it is the result of intensive research into the environmental pollution caused by coffins.
  • PeaceBox is almost indistinguishable from wood in appearance and hence retains the dignity of a traditional wooden coffin.
  • PeaceBox is equipped with a liquid-proof insert.
  • PeaceBox can be set up ready for use in minutes without tools or skilled labour.
  • PeaceBox weighs only (12 kg/26,4 lbs), yet can support a weight of (200 kg/440 lbs).
  • A knocked-down PeaceBox is extremely compact and space saving : up to 180 units can be stored in about (4,65 m2/50 sq. ff.) without crushing. This frees up valuable floor space.
  • PeaceBox can be placed inside a leased coffin for the ceremony if the family wishes.
  • PeaceBox represents a low-cost alternative for you.

Also, during cremation…

  • PeaceBox contains no chloride or fluoride.
  • Emits low carbon monoxide.
  • Emits low hydrogen carbon mass flow.
  • Emits no black smoke (white smoke only).
  • Release substantially less pollutants than traditional caskets.
  • Acclaimed test results obtained from the renowed German ecological research laboratories (T.U.V.) are identical wether the furnace is operated by gas, electric or fuel.
  • PeaceBox contains no wood, screw or nails. The only metal parts consist of six metal staples that weigh (15 gr/0,4 ounce) which ensures appreciable protections for the cremation furnace ashpan.

I figure that you are going to leave this world eventually so why not start caring about what your remains and your $15,ooo casket are doing to the earth? Little steps my friends…one little step at a time.

Bravo to the little Swiss company!  This could change the face of caskets as we know it.
