Today is a special day.
It is a day where we must inspire awareness for Mother Earth and create movement towards treating her with respect.
This year I celebrated Earth Day at Roberts Creek Festival, nicknamed the “Tie-Dye Festival” by the young locals. I didn’t see much tie-dye there (damn, I’m really into authentic tie-dye these days) but man was I ever in my element!
I found myself in this little festival wandering around with my Wolf for roughly 5 hours purchasing handmade seed necklaces from the Amazon, eating local vegetarian curry dishes, signing Peace petitions for a lovely little 80-year lady. I read up on the community pesticide-free garden project, Edible Landscaping, how to grow and eat Sea Kale, Joe Pye Weed (grows wild in Ontario), Dutch Mice and how to maintain a stream myself. I listened to Canadian made songs about the Earth by the Sunshine Coast talent, purchased local tea blends from Shadoblix Farms and Wheat and Gluten Free crackers from Yvonne’s Slightly Crackers. I spoke to the town-yarn maker about Chiengora (yes she does do it), I purchased a 70’s purple belt and a “hippy vest” from Starlet Vintage, a wind chime made of beach collectings from Atelier Veronique Creations and I talked to a lot of people who wanted to touch and talk about TimberWolf – of course I was happy to oblige.
It was an extremely vibrant little festival full of bright colours and interesting people, I knew I had to capture it for you to see..
