I Can’t Believe I Ate The Whole Thing!

April 4th, 2008 · 2 Comments

In 2005 a farmer at the Silent Valley Game Ranch in South Africa had a little problem. His impala ewes kept going missing so he decided to put up an electric fence to defend his animals against the mysterious predator. A week later he took a tour of his property and this is what he found:

With a 10-inch bite and over four metres of length, this was a prime example of the African Rock Python – one of the world’s largest snakes. Upon skinning the snake the farmer was able to confirm it as being the stealthy predator, he had eaten an ewe whole!

Their bite is not venomous, but they eat practically any animal that they come across and can overpower, including children. In 2002 a African python ate a young boy, you can read more at Children terrified as python eats boy. However, this is a wild animal an can you expect anything else? Maybe not. But there here is one extraordinary story of a Cambodian boy befriending a python as told by National Geographic
