Just when we thought the final frontier was space, scientist Galen Rathbun discovers a new mammal! We have a new species addition to our mammal clan called a Rhynchocyon udzungwensis. Discovery News reports this little fella weighs roughly 1.5lbs and is now the 16th Sengis on record. The cool part is that this new fella is 25% bigger than the other small insect-eating furry Elephant Shrews. Why is that cool? Likely because he evolved from smaller Sengis due natural selection. Evolution is still at work!
I really feel like a kid in a candy store with this story, so lets just take this in and enjoy the feeling of discovery….
