By now, you will have all read that I’m insane about supporting local or small designers (otherwise, you can check out this blog). And as much as I love that Vivienne Westwood dog coat we do have to be realistic about what we put our money into. I’m very particular about the styles that I wear and my dog wears, but am not willing to spend a butt-load to get it. Given the fact that my canine is a very masculine, big, burly, Bernese Mountain Dog named TimberWolf I have to be sure that I “dress” him accordingly (there’s a lot of girly-dog stuff out there). My solution? ETSY.
Etsy is an online marketplace for buying & selling all things handmade.
Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers. Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice:
Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade.
That said, you can go online, and find a store such as Puzzimals Shop, and request a custom made dog collar and leash. You can pick the colour (light russet, chestnut, brown or black) the size, the decorations and the type of metal (brass or chrome snap) as well as get your dogs name personalized on the items for a grand total of – $32.
Greenbelts also has some very original stuff, using old belts and converting them to dog collars. Great if you are a one of a kind type of person or like that rustic used leather
appearance.
Windshine will customize your pet’s tag on some rustic copper plates.
So you don’t have to be rich to get that “rich” look for your pet. Celebrate your own inner designer by commissioning a collar to be handmade for your little Estella-Heart instead!
