My husband and I stumbled upon these wonderful breeders over 2 years ago while at a dog show. I had fallen in love with a Bernese Mountain Dog that was owned by a friend of ours about 5 months earlier and just wanted to check out a few more of them. So off we went. Flash forward to the ring: there they came, the Berners smiling as they swaggered joyously into the ring. My husband and I at the same time said, “look at that one!” His name was Baker. He truly was a picture of “a large, sturdy, well-balanced working dog.” We had to meet the breeders…
Back stage, is where we fell in love with the Madeline and Geoff and met their other dogs including Swisskiss He’s A Sweet Talker Joey (who is certainly making his round these days! Congrats Joey!) They knew what they were doing - they answered all of our questions wonderfully. However, it was meeting their dogs that made our decision. All their pooches just had a little “magic” about somehow. It was just an instinct I guess. We had met our breeders. We just knew it.
My Wolf is just a little over 18 months old. He gets lot of attention - which is very normal for the breed. But he is really a beautiful picture of a Berner and often I try to separate myself to view him like an outsider…and I really believe that he is a healthy-beauty despite my personal bond with him. I completely attribute that to Swisskiss and a really great raw diet.
Most importantly, he has opened my eyes to a whole new world – which is mostly what I dedicate this blog to. He is young still, but he carries an air childish-wisdom that is slowly turning into something very special. We look forward to every day we spend with him and are often excited to see what he will do next or which of his breed instincts will appear today is the most rewarding of it all.
