I love tea.
I drink it in the morning. I drink it at night. I use it on my plants, my dog, my husband and myself. If you are ever looking for a holistic treatment externally and internally use tea on it - I’m sure you will discover your own uses for it as a result. My love and uses for tea are compared to My Big Fat Greek Wedding’s father who uses Windex for everything.
If you need ideas on what to use tea for, Gomestic has created a list to help you get started:
- Apply a wet tea bag on the razor burn to reduce the pain
- Place the lukewarm tea bags on your closed eyes to refresh your tired eyes
- Soak a tea bag in cool water and place it on to the site to stop the bleeding and pain of a lost tooth
- Place your feet in strong tea concoction to get rid of the unpleasant odor
- Soak a tea bag in cool water and place it over the site of injection to relieve the pain
- Apply a few wet tea bags on the affected skin after sunburn to reduce the pain
- Plunge a cotton ball in tea and wipe on the affected part due to ivy rash to relieve from the pain
- Gargling with the herbal tea made with peppermint reduces toothache
- Wash your hair with a cup of herbal tea after shampooing to make the hair silky and shiny
- Clean the wood furniture with a soft cloth dipped in a freshly prepared tea to add shine to them
- Sprinkling some used tea bags near the rosebushes enhances their growth by nourishing them
- Spark the mirror by cleaning it with a soft cloth dipped in tea
- Place a few used tea bags on top of the drainage layer at the bottom of the planter before potting to keep the plants healthier
- Let the used tea bags open and dry and then use them as stuffing for sachets to give perfume to them
- Pour some cups of tea into the compost to accelerate the decomposition and create acid rich compost
A couple of my own wolf-uses that are not on this list are:
- Use it to rinse your dogs eyes out after a rough and tumble at the local dog beach or salty ocean to prevent infection or help with irritation
- A patch of dry skin, insect bite causing your pooch to scratch? Use green tea to take away the itch.
- Also works to remove itch from a cut, hot spot, or an irritated ear flap caused by infection - use green or white teas on white furs as black may stain
- Use tea to add an extra shine to Rover’s coat
- Make a herbal honey using loose leaf teas, load the honey up in a Kong. Wolf’s fave is the Planet Dog Orbo, freeze it and serve. They will go nuts over it and the unpasteurized honey has great digest enzymes in it.
- MY FAVE: pour yourself a nice fresh, warm cup, curl up in a blanket on the floor in front of the fireplace (all lights/noise off) and spend time with your best friend their level for a little while. I prefer to use green tea for this so it does stain the blanket/carpet when accidentally bumped by a nose demanding a belly rub.
Please share your tea tricks and tips with me! Would love to hear new ideas…
