The Dog Likes It Raw: The Best Sources

April 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

A continuation from The Dog Likes It Raw: The Discovery and The Transition.

Upon my discovery of the raw diet and during the transition I started the never-ending search on the good and the bad. I am one of those people who would go back to school if I won the lottery and the need for information manifests itself as an obsession. So…I Googled, Yahooed and MSNed. I checked Veterinary sites. Holistic sites. News Groups. I talked to the owners and employees of In The Raw and their customers. I sparked up conversations with other dog owners. All of this research greatly contributes to my favorite raw dog food sources…

Above all, do your own research and use your own critical judgment and ask questions. Think about the sources and their possibly motives. Do what is best for your pet, but be as well-rounded as possible with the diet. There are a lot of support groups out there such as Dogster’s Raw Food Diet discussion board or Yahoo Groups Raw Feeding who can answer questions based on their own experience. And of course, you can contact me (wolfgirl@blondebynature.com) if you have any questions.

Happy Hunting!

I also did a lot of research before switching my pets to a raw diet. The only negative comments I ever found were from the commercial pet food companies, and I can only assume it’s because they know they’ll lose a lot of business if people see for themselves how their pet’s health can improve with a raw diet versus the chemical, preservative and grain filled diet they get with commercial dry food. My dog Abby’s allergies have completely disappeared since changing her diet to raw and all natural kibble. I will never go back to commercial pet food.
