lucy.jpg     It’s now 2008.

My New Years celebration consisted of a few close friends and my Mom and Dad. I was ok with that. I find as I get older, New Years celebrations seen to get smaller. I’m ok with that too. 2008 is the year where I fully accept who I am, because if our furry companions can do it, so can I…

The Vancouver Olympics is only 2 years away and I promise that I will not be around Vancouver to see that day. I dread the increased real estate prices (and thus increased rent), paying $8 for milk or $4.00/pound of cran-raisins and the development/commercialism. Yes my friends, I hate the city. Not THIS city, but THE city. Vancouver is beautiful as far as cities go…but I’m just not feeling it. I long for those wide-open spaces and having deer wander onto your yard for a bite to eat and absolute silence. And you know what? I’m ok with turning into that crazy lady who collects wild cats and nurses a wolf or bear back to health, although today I was told that I’m too pretty to turn into that crazy lady - whatever that means. I will also admit that having a warm lake to wakeboard, tube or swim in is the ultimate way to live. In addition, there is something to be said about having 4 very different seasons, rather than 2: Chilly/sunny and chilly/raining.

How did the Wolf make out with the caninesitters you ask? Well, he dug a few holes in the garden and ate about a pound of horse poop, but besides that everyone survived! Whew. It was nice to know that he was being loved while we were gone, and he sure was loved!

How’s the family? The family is fantastic. It was amazing when we first saw them. I always get butterflies on the flight home. I don’t think I stopped laughing the entire time. We ice fished, ate, ski-dooed, ate, tobogganed, celebrated, laughed, played games, shopped. It was awesome. But the leaving part of the trip…sheesh. My sister and I usually call each other some type of curse name because we get angry at each other for getting choked up about my living. The bro sent me on my way with a small, very brotherly-like, care package. And my parents…don’t wanna talk about it because I miss them so much.

So there goes 2007 Blonde of the past, and hears comes 2008 the Blonde of the future. What will the future hold for BBN? More info on canines, holistic living, neat articles and neat stuff.

Stay tuned, more cool stuff to come…
